Capabilities

Our services range from brand development and visual identities to the design of digital platforms and editorial content, as well as campaigns, signage, exhibitions, and space.

Brand

We develop brand strategies and corporate designs with clear positioning, a precise profile, and long-lasting impact. Through analysis, strategy, and content clarification, we create visual identities and design systems that ensure brand recognition and function consistently across all media—for both public and private clients.

Campaign

We develop analog and digital communication campaigns characterized by high-quality design, clear messaging, and precise execution. Across all media, we create powerful visuals and messages that capture attention, strengthen brands, and effectively communicate even complex topics such as sustainability, culture, politics, and social responsibility.

Corporate

We develop visual identities for public and private clients that organize content, ensure brand recognition, and function consistently across print, digital, physical spaces, and campaigns. Through a minimalist, precise, and distinctive approach, we create corporate designs that embody a distinct identity, serve a clear purpose, and have a lasting impact.

Digital

We develop websites, digital applications, and interactive media with a strong visual identity, intuitive user navigation, and accessible design. From UX strategy and information architecture to UI design and final implementation, we create consistent digital experiences that guide users and elevate brands—for websites, digital signage, exhibition applications, displays, and social media.

Editorial

We create distinctive catalogs, brochures, and program booklets in which typography, visual language, layout, and materiality come together to form a cohesive whole. The result is high-quality print media that brings stories to life, provides clear guidance, and conveys complex topics in a way that is both clear and emotionally engaging—particularly in the fields of culture, art, architecture, and science.

Exhibition

We develop comprehensive exhibition concepts that integrate space, scenography, design, and communication into clear, experiential formats. This results in permanent and temporary exhibitions that make content accessible, evoke emotions, and leave a lasting impression—both in print and online.

Signage

We design analog, digital, and hybrid signage systems for architectural projects and public spaces. By analyzing pathways, usage patterns, and information needs, we create clear, user-centered wayfinding systems that provide guidance, improve processes, and enhance the quality of the space in the long term—sensitively integrated, designed to be accessible, and implemented with a view to the future.

Space

We combine architecture and visual communication to create context-driven spatial concepts, brand spaces, installations, and places of remembrance. This results in striking designs that provide orientation, evoke emotions, and leave a lasting impression on spaces—multidisciplinary, clearly structured, and executed across all project phases.

Our approach

We view design as a systemic, interdisciplinary, and interpretive process—from the initial idea through to consistent implementation. We advise clients in the fields of art, culture, public administration, and business.

Sustainability is a natural part of our work: conceptual clarity, durable design systems, and a conscious choice of materials and media characterize our work. At the same time, we use contemporary tools and new technologies to develop future-proof solutions and make complex content understandable. In doing so, we combine strategic thinking with high artistic and design quality.

The office was founded in 1983 by Eberhard Stauß. Frank Abele joined in 1991, became a partner with Ursula Wangler in 2000, and today runs the office as sole owner with his interdisciplinary team of 13 designers.

Our approach: Design that is compelling both artistically and in terms of content, that touches people emotionally, and that structures content in such a way that it is understandable, remains relevant over the long term, and makes sense within its context.
