Opening of 4 Museums – 1 Modern
To mark the 100th anniversary of Die Neue Sammlung, the four museums of the Pinakothek der Moderne – the Collection of Modern Art (part of the Bavarian State Painting Collections), the State Collection of Graphic Art, the TUM Architecture Museum and Die Neue Sammlung – The Design Museum – are presenting, for the first time, a joint, cross-disciplinary exhibition dedicated to Modernism – an era of new beginnings.
Significant works from the fields of art, graphic art, architecture and design are on display across four thematic areas: New Aesthetics, New Materials and Techniques, New Institutions and New Society. Artists and designers represented include Max Beckmann (art), A.M. Cassandre (graphic art), Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (architecture) and Marcel Breuer (design).
Martin Kinzlmaier’s exhibition architecture reflects the four museums and thematic areas with a floor plan shaped like the number ‘4’.
We contributed the exhibition graphics and are proud to be part of such an exciting and magnificent project.
The exhibition runs from 4 April to 28 September 2025.
