Understanding World Heritage. Conveying Values. Shaping the Future.

For over 40 years, Bern’s Old Town has held the title of UNESCO World Heritage Site. With the first management plan, this significant heritage site now has a long-overdue foundation for its long-term protection and further development.

We are proud to have contributed our expertise in graphics, design, and communication—through a corporate design and numerous communication materials—as part of the general planning team for the management plan.

We’ve gone through an exciting process. The intensive professional exchange allowed us to gain a deeper understanding of the Old Town’s unique qualities and to actively help shape how the World Heritage Site is communicated.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Jean-Daniel Gross and Michael von Allmen from the Historic Preservation Office, as well as to the master planning team led by Claudio Campanile, Maurus Schifferli, Toni Weber, and Christoph Schläppi.

On the occasion of the ceremonial inauguration of the management plan by Mayor Marieke Kruit on October 22, the newly published Bern Book was also unveiled. As an additional commitment by the planning team, it is far more than a byproduct: Author Christoph Schläppi reinterprets and retells the story of the World Heritage Site. We had the privilege of contributing to the design of this special reference work. Thank you very much!
