Grand Opening SAP Garden

The striking building – clad in Corten steel – on the edge of the English Garden in Munich has been extensively renovated by Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos (Madrid/Berlin). The design agency Frank Abele has, among other things, created the campaign for the reopening.

The campaign’s key visual depicts the adventure of archaeology – collecting, preserving, protecting, archiving, reconstructing and researching. It also playfully engages with the distinctive design language of the 1970s building – the modular façade and the building volumes organised in a square grid. In this way, the distinctive characteristics of the architecture and archaeological research are referenced across the various touchpoints.
