Campaign
The Archaeological State Collection celebrates the reopening of its museum in April 2024 after 8 years of closure.
The striking building – clad in Corten steel – on the edge of the English Garden in Munich was extensively renovated by Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos (Madrid/Berlin). Among other things, the Büro für Gestaltung Frank Abele created the campaign for the reopening.
The key visual of the campaign visualises the adventure of archaeology – collecting, preserving, protecting, archiving, reconstructing and researching. It also playfully addresses the special design language of the building from the 1970s – the modular façade and the building volumes, which are organised in a square grid. In this way, the special characteristics of the architecture and the archaeological research work are referenced across the various touchpoints.
