Brand
Marie. Das Bistro im Bundestag

Living participation and inclusion. A public place, anchored in the Bundestag.
For the public bistro in the Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus of the German Bundestag, we developed a holistic image that combines democratic dignity, contemporary enjoyment and active inclusion. The aim was to create a distinctive brand for a special public place in a parliamentary context.
Based on the architecture, history and use of the building, we created a distinctive yet approachable brand identity with ‘Marie.’. The minimalist word mark, clear typography and calm, classic-modern colour scheme visibly anchor the bistro in the Bundestag environment without compromising its openness and accessibility. High-quality materials and documentary imagery underline its authentic character.

A central design element is the specially developed key visual ‘Federkleid’ (feather dress). It symbolises diversity, humanity and participation and translates the inclusive claim of the operator's concept into a visual metaphor. The corporate design was implemented across all media – from menus and print products to digital applications, interior branding, exterior appearance and work clothing. Accessibility, design restraint and quality were consistent guidelines throughout.
The result is a culturally sensitive, timeless appearance that does justice to the location and at the same time creates a unique identity for the public bistro in the German Bundestag.
