For the Bielefeld campus – including Bielefeld University, University of Applied Sciences Bielefeld, various research centres and student institutions – we developed the concept for visual communication with image-building elements for the expansive area.
The orientation system includes barrier-free and tactile site plans, guide and information signs, area and building markings. The specific naming concept for squares, streets and walkways developed by the university was implemented as well.
The naming concept from “Path of Knowledge” to “The Course of Things” and “Interaction” is explained on information boards. The Bielefeld science philosopher and Leibniz Prize winner Prof. Dr. Martin Carrier developed this extraordinary concept with his team, which is derived from terms of the theory of science and philosophy.
